A series of animations that trace the history of Tetley and look at milestones in the journey of Tetley as a brand, from its humble growth on horseback as the Tetley brothers made their journey to London, its innovative factory practices, the round-tea bag and dripless draw-string innovation, to the making of the Tetley Tea Folk who continue to serve as mascots of the brand.

 

Tetley is a brand that has gone through history with modern Britain.

 

To commemorate the 2017 acquisition, Tata Consumer Products (formerly Tata Global Beverages) commissioned these animations to be shared over 21 days in their Twitter feed.

As the world's 2nd largest manufacturer of tea, Tata Consumer Products (formerly Tata Global Beverages) is one of the largest multinational conglormerates.

Amplifying brand recognition for milestones such as Himalayan water diversification, strategic alliances with global brands such as Starbucks, or acquisitions such as Tetley Tea, entailed content plans that drove digital engagement through quizzes, brand knowledge trivia, and UGC. This culminated in an organic, non-sponsored, growth from from 400 followers to 3900.

Visual direction was thus characterised by photo-realism, and a desire to bring the story into the personal space, a desk, a kitchen, a home. TGB as a brand is not experienced until its products are served, tasted, and quietly ritualised.
