Ilene Sova's curatorial approach incorporated grouping the submissions into broad, unique categories such that the artworks would appear to be talking to each other. These 5 categories followed the naming convention of Collaging the..."Masses", "Abstraction", "Portrait", "Icon", "Land".
 
Working with a landscape format (287x168mm) allowed the book to accommodate artworks that were of both unique dimensions and unique materials. The works in this survey were not simply collage out of and on paper, but of natural objects, fabric, archival paper, and mixed-media that comes with its own volume and often turning collage into sculpture.

To enable viewers to navigate the online exhibition, category names were placed next to page numbers along with a simple colour coded and italicised typographic indicator at the beginning of each section.

Instagram posts which doubled as e-vites were made using 8 of the artists' works.
